Cairns has an international as well as a dometic airport. Regular bus service operates on weekdays. Buses and taxis are available to Port Douglas, Cooktown and other nearby attractions.

The Scenic Railway and Skyrail connect to Kuranda, while daily cruises aboard catamarans, yachts or cruise ships are available for trips to the reef & islands of Green, Fritzroy and Frankland and the outer reef. Charter seaplanes and helicopters are also available on hire.
